Physics

First, it goes without saying that physics is infamous for its difficulty and that only the most ultra genius, high-IQ, gifted, and talented students face it head on. Indeed, the name "Einstein" is synonymous with genius and he made groundbreaking contributions to... Physics! Physics is the only AP test where the subject is broken down into 4 separate exams for crying out loud. Whether or not it is difficult is less important to us, so much as the strategy, actions, and techniques we are going to use to master the subjects. What do we do to make physics as effortless as possible?

Patience: This is actually very difficult to cultivate in teachers. Even those who are aware of its importance will demonstrate it through a side remark or subtle facial expression. we have many years teaching a wide variety of subjects and have cultivated this in QMP tutors.

Socratic Method: We learned about the "Socratic method" of teaching in college. This is where the teacher will purposely not give a direct answer to a problem, instead opting to ask the student questions to figure out the answer themselves.

Scaffolding: Some knowledge follows a well-defined path. You can't study functions until you've got your multiplication tables down, for instance. This is the bedrock of mastery based learning, where a student only proceeds with a topic until they have mastered the basics. We use scaffolding by finding the stable ground floor of a students' knowledge and building up from there. 

I do, we do, you do: This is exactly as it sounds, first I show a student how I would do a problem, then do it together, then have them do it without any assistance at all from me.

Fun: It's hard to make physics fun. We'll admit that. The way we make it fun is by making it interesting and  relevant. There are so many real life applications for physics, so we find ways to relate what we learn to things in the real world.
